only 60 hours to “finish”

and

72 hours to “survive”.

In January, 2023, we held the first private screening of the film from the year that changed the Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge.

The 10 year anniversary year was a special year with only previous finishers and survivors invited for one more multi-day effort. That year saw epic stories of determined runners, emotional finishes and new records set.

Now join us for more screenings around town.

The movie was absolutely outstanding. Blew me away.

It’s incredible. Every shot, the narrative arc, it’s all just so good. Got to the end and just was hoping there’d be bonus scenes so it would continue!

It’s a must see if you are lucky enough to get your hands on a ticket.

This film is a love story to Hong Kong. To its stunning landscapes, to the incredible melting pot of people, to the resilient community spirit.

Beautiful shots, gripping stories, and all weaved together in an engaging and human way.

A film spanning the whole of hong kong

The Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge first started when a man named Andre Blumberg, your everyday runner, was looking for the next big challenge.

He settled on running all four of Hong Kong’s long distance trails in four subsequent days. After successfully completing his challenge, Andre raised the bar and made it a little harder the following year.

It’s been 10 years since that fateful first attempt and the challenge he first started has only got harder and harder!

The Trails

  • The longest of the four trails, starting in the west of Hong Kong and ending in the Far East. The Maclehose Trail is 100km in length and roughly 4,800m of vertical elevation change.

Complete it in under 18 hours to get your ticket to start the Wilson Trail

  • The absolute crux of the challenge. This 78km trail starts in the far north, traverses all the way to the southern tip of Hong Kong Island.

Runners must navigate technical trails, relentless concrete catch water, three subway stops on HK’s underground before 1,000m worth of steps in the last 10km!

  • The “easiest” of the Four Trails as it’s only 50km in length, however, the trail starts at sea level and finishes at the Peak on Hong Kong Island. It still has 2,500m of elevation change.

Participants will head into their second night of running with hallucinations really beginning to set in.

  • For those that make it to Lantau island there is 70km of trail across some of the most isolated trails in the territory plus two of Hong Kong’s highest mountains to overcome!

The exhaustion is extreme and only those with iron wills are able to finish this epic challenge
